We first made a pattern by using a pair of shorts you have against construction paper. Make sure to add a seam allowance. |
I have overall clips but didn't end up using them. The fabric he chose was swimsuit lycra, so it is stretchy enough to not need clips.

There are four pockets on the legs and one on top. The top part is backed with flannel wince the fabric is so thin- I didn't want it to not have any body.
I also did a stretchy waistband to pull the top in, and attached it to the sides of the top part. |

He really loves them.

He designed these as his gardening overalls, so he would have lots of pockets for all of his garden tools.
